WHAT NEXT AFTER MONDAY 5TH SEP 2022?
It ends as a
week culminated with legal battle, as “learned friends” tried hard to lay substantive
evidence on the Ruto vs Raila case before the Supreme Court of Kenya. The conviction,
articulation, follow-up queries and counter-responses occupied the court’s floor
for a great deal of the days. Many Kenyans and foreigners gave audience, as
they spectated and assumed the role on “online judges”. It was indeed a contest
that heavily operationalized the legal space, for all submissions had to be
made within the timeline given. September 5, 2022 will indeed go down as one of
the most remarkable days in the Kenyan political history. The end result of all
the “…prima facie...”, “…de minimis non curat
lex...”,“… pro bono & cui bono..” ,“…quid pro quo..”, “…Jose Camargo…”, “…F34
A and B…” “…IEBC servers…” “…50%+1…” and
any related submission will be known by all. Nevertheless, the discretion is
left to the judges of this superior court. In all, a judgement MUST be
rendered.
This blog is
devoid of any premature inference regarding the case, but I know that we all
have taken sides i.e. we have a wish and way that we want the judgement. This
is absolutely right, fair and commendable, keep it up!. However, one side will either win or lose to
the other. Ideally, each side is made up of people (you, I & they) and
therefore, some will win while others will lose. The affiliations, especially
political are always there, and we are there to choose a side to identify with.
Sitting on the fence is also an option, but not for majority if not all.
Despite the outcome, Tuesday 6th will come and all other days will rise fresh, with each bringing distinct courses. The blog therefore calls upon all to look beyond, and spend selves in worthy ideals. DO NOT lose your brother, sister, friend, colleague, senior, subordinate just because of Monday and other events that will follow. Furthermore, do not be all-cogitabund of contempt and scathing attacks towards other people’s spirituality and culture at large. Remember that philosophers develop theories out of fundamental navigation through a given phenomenon. Do not open your mouth to troll and “curse” the winners, for what goes around comes around in good measure. Instead, unite and work towards a more prosperous Kenya. It is our business, so let’s pursue it.
As our National Anthem reminds us,
Justice
be our shield and defender,
May
we dwell in unity,
Peace
and liberty
Plenty
be found within our borders.
Lastly, democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Therefore, may it prevail.
Vox Populi, Vox dei.😊😊
